The client
Abela Haulage is a business based in Lakesland, approximately ten minutes from Picton in New South Wales. The company operates across two distinct areas of work: a haulage business managing freight and transport requirements, and an agricultural operation producing beetroot. Both activities are run from the same rural property, with two large sheds housing the agricultural and haulage equipment used across the operation.
The challenge
The combination of agricultural production and active haulage operations meant that Abela’s two large equipment sheds were constantly accumulating farm dirt and mud. The nature of the work brings soil, mud and general debris into the sheds on a continuous basis, and the existing cleaning solution, an older walk behind sweeper, had reached the end of its useful life and was no longer adequate for the scale and nature of the task.
The company reached out to ASC’s Scott Campbell, asking him to visit the Lakesland property and recommend a solution that would handle the demands of their particular environment. Rather than simply taking an order over the phone, Scott visited the site in person to assess the sheds and demonstrate the right machine for the application.
The result
Following the onsite visit and demonstration, Abela Haulage purchased the heavy duty ASC Eureka M1 sweeper. The M1’s robust construction and performance in dirty, muddy shed environments made it the right replacement for the ageing machine the company had been running, and the onsite demonstration gave the team the confidence to commit to the right solution for their operation.
